Arabidopsis thaliana Genomic Sequencing Database
1. Complete Genomic Sequencing. The Arabidopsis Genome Initiative (AGI) is an international effort to sequence the complete Arabidopsis genome. From 1996, six groups have been involving to decipher the plant's entire genome. Now all five chromosomes have been sequenced, and are publicly available. 2. BAC Clone Sequencing and Annotation. The Ecker Lab is one of three groups that constitute the SPP Consotium to sequence chromosome 1 in the international Arabidopsis Genome Initiative (AGI). All completed sequence are submitted to the PLN division of GenBank, and included in the Arabidopsis Genome Annotation Database. 3. Sequence Databases for Blast Searches We have gathered the entire Arabidopsis thaliana genomic sequences to set up an AtGS database, and downloaded all Arabidopsis thaliana sequencing data (including ESTs, BAC ends, cDNAs and so on) from TAIR to format an AtCS database. |
